Why is my pit bull licking his red testicles, not eating, or sitting?

He could have a contact dermatitis from coming into contact with a cleaner or soap or some other substance. I recommend getting him checked by your vet to determine the cause of the redness and get him treated if needed.

I would recommend that you have Onyx examined by a vet. If he is uncomfortable laying down, it sounds pretty serious. It can be caused by infection in the skin or the testicles, which may have been brought on by trauma, excessive licking leading to infection, a systemic (or body-wide infection), etc. The vet will do an exam to determine the most likely cause and can prescribe medications for infection, inflammation, or itching as necessary. Until Onyx sees the vet, you should have him wear an e-collar to prevent further licking, since that will prevent spreading infection and delayed healing.

The first thing you need to do is put a cone collar on him to keep him from continuing to lick the skin. He has scrotal dermatitis (an infection of the scrotal skin) and no matter what you use to treat It with, if he just continues to lick, it will not get better. So, get the cone collar ASAP and then apply this Vetericyn spray (linked below) to the affected area 2-3 times per day. If after about 5=7 days of doing this, it is not better than you need to have him checked by your vet. If Mama has a vaginal discharge and she is not spayed she may have a uterine infection or what we refer to as a pyometra. Typically, we recommend surgery for these cases but they can be treated medically. The problem with medical therapy is that most reoccur. You may try reaching out to a low cost spay, neuter shelter. The red line is probably not related.

I would recommend taking him to a vet as soon as possible. It looks like in the picture a hole has formed in the scrotum. This could be a ruptures abscess,trauma, neoplasia or parasite. The testicles need a exam along with the prostate. I would recommend a elizabethan collar to prevent licking until you make it to the vet.

I would be worried about an staph infection on the skin or a form of the mange known as demodex or red mange. They can cause thinning hair and baldness with scales and scabs. You can bath him to help but you will need to see your regular vet to see which it is as they have very different treatments. His appetite may be decreased because he is feeling bad from the skin problem and it is making him miserable.
