Is my dog a Husky or a Malamute? How can I tell the difference?

If you want more concrete scientific information, the best (and only) way to determine breed is with genetic testing, such as the Wisdom Panel. Hello, thank you for your question about Apollo. Male dogs tend to be larger in size and often have a heavier build then female dogs of the same breed. There is some variation in the fur of huskies, and it also possible that the long fur you are seeing could still be Apollo's "puppy coat". However, it is also possible that he may be part malamute as these dogs are usually larger and have a different fur than huskies. If you are interested in knowing exactly what breed Apollo is. There is a canine DNA test, the wisdom panel, that can be performed to get more information. This test is performed by getting a swab from inside the dogs mouth. Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! How long you want her to heel on a walk is up to you. If you want her to not pull and be by your side then she should be able to do it the entire walk. At 7 months old Sienna is still growing bone wise. She doesn't look overweight in your pictures. Dogs do tend to get overweight after their spay, so you do have to be careful. I would continue the current amount of food. I provided a link on how to determine ideal body condition. If she gets too overweight, cut back. She is approaching the high end of the weight range for a female. I am guessing she will hit 50 lbs. If she is a larger framed husky she could go over that. Personally I think is a Malamut-Husky mix but i would not be able to confirm it 100% unfortunately from the pictures you showed. Any idea of the mother and the father? Hi, it's hard to appreciate Winters size from your photos but he's a handsome dog and definitely looks like a husky. Remember, he's still growing and will continue to grow until he's around 10-12mths old. His adult size will resemble his parents, so if you know what size they are, Winter will be like them. You don't need to fatten him up, it's healthier to stay leaner.

I would think he could have white German Shepherd or Spitz if his tail curls. Sadly we may never know and everyone likely has a different opinion! I hope this helps!

It appears that she is a mixed breed and that's about all we can say. Her age can be guessed by examining her teeth so we would need a picture of her teeth. Good luck with Sweety
