My dog got a human migraine pill. What reaction signs to watch for?

I would check the rest of the packet to see if he has eaten any others - simply having one in his mouth but not ingesting/swallowing it would not cause any significant effects (other than oral irritation if he chewed into the bitter center) but if such a small dog did consume whole tablets there would be a potential for toxic effects and rapid decontamination would be recommended

Excedrin is highly toxic to dogs due to the aspirin, caffeine, and acetaminophen in it. All three of these ingredients are toxic to dogs. You will see vomiting, and there will be other damage that may take days for symptoms to appear, such as liver damage and GI ulcers. If your dog ate excedrin, she needs to see a vet immediately. I do not know how much she ate, how much she weighs, or the strength of the pills she has eaten, so I can't say for certain how long it will take for side effects to appear. I can say for certain she does need to see a vet now because this drug is toxic to dogs.

She did eat a higher dose than recommended (10mg per pound of body weight at the highest, so 60mg) but after 1 hour, the aspirin has already been absorbed by her system . Of course, you can take her to the vet now if you are very worried. After examining her they could probably council you better. If you choose to just monitor her, watch her closely for any signs of illness and if you notice anything abnormal get her to a vet immediately. This is actually a quite safe dose and should not cause severe side effects as long as Jet is not taking any other medication and is healthy otherwise. It can cause lower blood pressure and increased urination. I would monitor him for the next 12-24 hours and if you notice any abnormal sign like no urination, increased thirst, vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy (and any other sign), I would recommend an immediate check up.

Since she only ate 1 pill, I would not be worried about toxicity. The doses in the vitamins for each of the components should not be harmful. You may see some GI signs such as poor appetite, vomiting or diarrhea, but should resolve. If symptoms continue, I would recommend taking her to your veterinarian.

Advil is potentially very toxic for dogs, it can cause acute kidney failure and the amount she ingested is enough to cause severe damage. if she did not throw up the pills you must take her to the emergencies urgently, she will need to be put on IV fluids and will be given activated charcoal to try and neutralize the toxic effect of Advil. she will also need to have a blood test done to make sure the kidneys are not affected.
