Why is my dog hoarse after boarding? Is the facility okay?

I’m wondering if Orcan barked a lot when he was at the kennel and now has a ‘hoarse voice’. This is certainly something that can happen after lots of barking. He should improve in a few days. If not you should check in with your vet.

While this could in theory be a reason of concern as some of the possible reasons is a tumor for example, this could also be due to barking too much while boarding. I would recommend that you continue to monitor Leo for now. If this does not go away on its own, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment. They can then examine this. Yes, persistent barking can cause a dog to lose their voice temporarily, it should resolve over the next 2-3weeks. If she is coughing or had any difficulty swallowing you should have her checked by your vet

As long as everything else is well and he is eating and mobile when he gets up it is likely he is just tired from all of excitement and activity. Monitor for any signs of fever or illness which may require a vet check

It sounds like your dog picked up a severe upper respiratory tract infection. This could be kennel cough, but also canine influenza or pneumonia. Please take him to your veterinarian for an exam. Since he is shivering, and lethargic, this could be a life-threatening condition.

Poor Bama. Sometimes boarding can be very stressful for these little guys and now that he is home he is catching up on his sleep. This is very normal. The stress can also make them more susceptible to other conditions like upper respiratory infections. If he isn't better by tomorrow and isn't eating, then I would recommend to take him to the vet for an exam.

If Panfilo has been barking a lot and playing lately, it is possible that he developed a hoarse bark due to overuse. Similar to humans when a person screams / yells for a while, the voice becomes hoarse. His bark should come back normally without any lasting problems. I hope this helps!
