Is my dog's dry nose, sleepiness, eye discharge normal after boarding?

As long as everything else is well and he is eating and mobile when he gets up it is likely he is just tired from all of excitement and activity. Monitor for any signs of fever or illness which may require a vet check

The nose of a dog is not used as an indication of illness. A dog's nose can change from cold and wet to warm and dry just by laying in the sun or sitting near a heat source. He may still be sleepy from his nap, and given that he just started this behavior, I would monitor him for now. If he's still lethargic in the morning, I would have him seen by a vet for a health check.

It sounds like your dog picked up a severe upper respiratory tract infection. This could be kennel cough, but also canine influenza or pneumonia. Please take him to your veterinarian for an exam. Since he is shivering, and lethargic, this could be a life-threatening condition.

Your pet needs to be seen by a vet right away. Even with no other symptoms, extreme lethargy is very concerning. Your dog may have eaten something that disagreed with her, swallowed something that has caused an obstruction, has parasites, is coming down with some kind of infection, there are a number of possibilities. Hello, sorry to hear about Pax. It could be that he is having normal eye secretions that are becoming stuck on his fur. As long as he is not itching at his eyes, having profuse persistent discharge, squinting, or having a red eye then I would continue to monitor him. You can use a damp cotton ball to wipe the fur around his eye and keep it clean. If the discharge worsens, or if he develops any sneezing or nasal discharge then you should have him evaluated by a veterinarian as this may indicate an upper respiratory infection. I would not be worried just yet. Even though he was fully vaccinated he could still have acquired kennel cough (bordetella). That vaccine is not 100% effective. If they have been vaccinated against it and they do end up getting kennel cough usually the symptoms are less severe and the course of the disease is shorter so having the vaccine is worthwhile. Was he vaccinated for influenza (flu)? Again, not a 100% protective vaccine (just like out flu vaccine). This could be more serious if he caught the flu. Just monitor him for worsening signs - not eating, extreme lethargy, increased coughing, not drinking, ocular/nasal discharge, etc. If you notice any of those signs then I would take him to your vet for an exam. A little bit tired and mild coughing is not too worrisome at this stage. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
