My puppy has a high fever, but the vet says he's okay. Should I worry?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 5 days old | 5 lbs

Ayya has fever for last 3 days . It varies from 103.5 - 105.5 . My vet started augmentin 156/5ml, 2ml twelve hourly. Eats and takes water when spoon feeds. Always needs to nurse from mother. I consulted another vet . He examined him and said clinically okay. He said not to measure temperature regularly as it will increase his anxiety and increase temperature. He said if he is clinically okay not to bother about temperature. I am really worried about him. Please advice

If he is eating, nursing and taking the medication I am not sure why you are worried. I agree with what the other vet said. Don't stress him by continuing to take his temperature. You don't have to be worried unless he stops eating and/or nursing.
