My puppy has normal temp, lethargic, and not eating. Should I worry?

I am concerned about Tyson feeling so cold. If you have a rectal thermometer, you can take his temperature. Normal is 100-102. If it is low, he should see a vet immediately. Also, you can place a small amount of honey or caro syrup on his gums in case he is hypoglycemic. Other potential causes for his illness include intestinal parasites (even if he was already dewormed once, they are still possible), GI blockage, bacterial or viral infection, food intolerance, among a few other possibilities. Any puppy that is lethargic or has vomiting and/or diarrhea should see a vet if the symptoms last more than 24 hours as they can get dehydrated very quickly.

Hello, sorry to hear about Bob. There are many reasons why he may not be eating and acting lethargic. A temperature of 102 is normal for a dog. Potential causes include a dietary indiscretion (getting into something that did not sit well with him), ingesting foreign material, having a viral infection or parasites, having pancreatitis, liver or kidney disease. If his signs persists longer than 3 days, or if he gets worse, then he should be evaluated by a veterinarian. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Puppy's getting sleepy after their shots is a normal reaction to vaccinations. They can also have a low grade fever and/or one bout of vomiting/diarrhea normally that are no cause for concern. The concern arises when your pet is severely lethargic, not eating, non-responsive, pale gums, or excessive vomiting/diarrhea. If you notice any of these symptoms then it is best to take puppy to a vet asap for immediate care, because a mores serious vaccine reaction is occurring at that point.

Poor puppy. That looks like digested food that he vomited up. He may have eaten something that he shouldn't have. Therefore I would try to fast him for 12 hours and then offer him small amounts of boiled chicken and plain rice. If he is still vomiting, lethargic, or has lack of appetite and diarrhea, then I would be concerned he may have either intestinal parasites or has contracted the deadly parvovirus. It is best to have him seen by your local veterinarian if he is not getting better. Hopefully he just got into something he shouldn't have and will show improvement within the next 12 to 24 hours. I am sorry to hear about Winnie. You can try taking her temperature to check for a fever. A thermometer (I don't recommend glass for risk of breakage) can be lubricated with vaseline or other lubricant and inserted rectally 1 to 2 inches. A normal temperature is 100 to 102.5. Above this would be a fever and cause for concern. Taking a rectal temperature may also help stimulate a bowel movement. You can also give a few teaspoons of canned pumpkin added to her food to help relieve constipation in case that is part of her issue. If she has a fever, constipation continues, lethargy continues, or she develops vomiting, decreased appetite, pain, diarrhea, difficulty breathing, or has pale gums then a visit to the vet is recommended.

If he is eating, nursing and taking the medication I am not sure why you are worried. I agree with what the other vet said. Don't stress him by continuing to take his temperature. You don't have to be worried unless he stops eating and/or nursing.

I can certainly understand being concerned about Tulip! Lethargy is a very general sign of illness, and it can be caused by systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. I would keep an eye on her tonight, and if she is still acting this way in the morning I would take her into a vet first thing for a health check.
