Is it normal for my healthy dog to hide under furniture to nap?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Japanese Spitz | Female | spayed | 3 years and 10 months old | 11 lbs

My dog started hiding under the table and chairs and nap there without a reason. She seems healthy and happy and she isn’t abused she stays there even when I find her and isn’t there all the time, so could she just be there cuz it’s fun for her to do for some reason?

If only Joshie could talk! Pets can develop new habits out of no where. If Joshie seems normal in every other way, this is likely nothing to worry about. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
