Why is my dog's head trembling like a heartbeat after parvo virus?

It is very unusual for a three-year old dog to get infected with parvo. Did your veterinarian make this diagnosis? If she indeed had parvo she should not have diarrhea anymore and the vomiting should have stopped. Shaking is a sign of pain, usually. Please do not give her aspirin as this could cause her to bleed again, or cause ulcers. Please take her to the vet for a recheck to make sure she is indeed getting better.

If she is unvaccinated for distemper, I would potentially consider this as a possibility but in older animals, distemper is not commonly seen. She may be uncomfortable from something (painful) or an infection / systemic disease. If adjusting the temperature to keep her warm does not help, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. Poor guy. There are some complications that can arise from a pet having Parovivirus, and one of them is a condition called intussusception (folding in of the intestines). This is what I suspect may be going on with your pet Trap. He could also just have a really bad bacterial infection secondary to the parovirus and is in need of additional antibiotics. I typically put pets on Metronidazole and Cefazolin or Penicillin for total coverage. Talk to your vet about additional antibiotics. Also Trap could very well be shaking because he is in pain. Parvovirus causes sloughing of the intestines, which is uncomfortable for pets. Ask your vet about pain meds (i.e. Tramadol) for Trap. Tremors or shaking can have a variety of causes- congenital (see more in younger dogs), toxins, metabolic disorders, or organ dysfunction. It could also be a focal or partial seizure. My advice is to have Layla examined by her veterinarian and some blood work as well as imagine done to help determine a cause. I hope this helps and best wishes to you and Layla!

It could still be pain associated with a leg even if nothing seems wrong with them. I recommend that you have Pari evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics include radiographs. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least they can prescribe pain control medications to make Pari feel better. In the meantime, reduce her activity as much as possible as that in itself can make a big difference. Good luck and have a good day!

The injection can be very painful. This could be why she is shivering. If it persists, contact your veterinarian and ask about pain management. If she becomes extremely lethargic or extremely painful, have her rechecked by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER.

I recommend that you have Buddy evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They are likely going to perform and examination to be followed by bloodwork which should help start sorting this out. A referral to a veterinary neurologist may be recommended. Good luck!
