My older dog is shaking all over. Why is her whole body trembling?

Seeing that Booboo is 12 years old, I would recommend having him examined by a veterinarian and have his blood tested to make sure that there are no major changes to his blood that would indicate why he is exhibiting these symptoms. He may be shivering and whimpering because of discomfort. The vomiting could be due to systemic illness or infection. The sooner he is seen by a veterinarian the better. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Miss. Trembling can indicate pain in a dog. This could be belly pain especially if she has had any vomiting or diarrhea. It can be from muscle or joint pain or perhaps she is experiencing anxiety. Thunderstorms and fireworks are big causes for anxiety this time of year. This behavior could be due to older age and brain senile problems but also shivering and lethargy could be caused by arthritic pain. A visit at your local vets is recommended as Carly will probably benefit from medications to treat chronic pain or from medications that help for dementia.

There could be a couple of reasons why Elliot is shaking constantly. These things include pain, being cold, injury, fever, nausea, or a serious illness. I'm not sure if she is showing any other signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, limping, or lethargy. If she is only shaking but is otherwise behaving normally, eating normally, drinking normally, and moving normally, it's fine to wait until Monday to have her seen a vet for this problem. Keep her quiet and warm, and rest her as much as possible. Should she start showing other signs such as the ones I mentioned above or any other concerning ones, then I would take her into a vet right away for evaluation and treatment. I hope this helps!

Tremors or shaking can have a variety of causes- congenital (see more in younger dogs), toxins, metabolic disorders, or organ dysfunction. It could also be a focal or partial seizure. My advice is to have Layla examined by her veterinarian and some blood work as well as imagine done to help determine a cause. I hope this helps and best wishes to you and Layla!

Possibilities include toxin exposure, infection, heart problems, neurologic problems, endocrine/hormone problems, kidney/liver/gallbladder disease, cancer, etc. I would advise taking Charlie to your veterinarian right away to get him assessed. Your vet can gather a history, perform an exam and then advise a diagnostic/treatment plan based on their findings. Possible tests include fecal/blood/urine tests, x-rays/ultrasound. Once a diagnosis is made a treatment plan can be implemented. Good luck with Charlie

The signs that you are seeing may be due to a variety of factors, including nausea/GI upset, pain, an infection (such as uterine), or another underlying medical issue. I would recommend she be evaluated by her regular veterinarian to determine the underlying cause for her symptoms, have any necessary testing done (xrays, bloodwork), and get started on any treatment she may need.
