Dog's gums bleeding after eating. Is it an emergency or can it wait?

Constant bleeding from the gums is not normal and not that easy to stop. It could be a bleeding disorder or a gum/teeth condition, it needs to be checked by a vet, if it's a tooth that is causing this, or something that is stuck in the gums, your dog will need to be put under sedation in order to solve this issue.

It could be a loose tooth. Do not give her any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. See if she will let you look at her mouth gently so you can try to stop the bleeding if possible. If not, don't push it. Do not give her any food tonight or in the morning, and get her into a vet asap. She can have water.

You should take him to your vets without delay. If he is bleeding a lot you vet will have to put your dog under general anaesthesia to stop the bleed. Also, it is important to find out why he is bleeding. It could be due to a problem in the mouth (large wound or cut on the tongue, bleeding mass etc) but it could be a problem with blood clotting.

If her appetite is decreased from this then I would have it checked. At her age she may be teething and loosing some baby teeth which can cause blood but puppies are also known for eating things they aren't supposed to and she may have injured her gums. If she is eating and acting fine, then you can monitor it for 24 hours to see if there are any changes.

The gum look quite inflamed and dental disease is needed. I don't think this is an emergency though and Cali can certainly wait until the 16/10. In the meantime antiseptic oral gel or antibiotics can be used. Please discuss these options with your local veterinarian. I don't think the sneezing episodes are related to the gum disease.

There is nothing that you can do once the bleeding has started but there must be an underlying reason for the blood clotting disorder and mouth bleed. Excessive bleeding from the mouth is usually a result of gums inflammation or bath teeth. If you feed your dog only soft, wet food, hopefully there will be less episodes of the bleed. Blood clotting disorder could be a result of low platelet count or clotting factors deficiency. All of these problems have their underlying causes which should be investigated. Please, talk to your vet about running more tests to find out why Duke's clotting time is delayed and why he keeps bleeding from the mouth. Mouth bleed can become an emergency, if it is profound or prolonged.

Brownie really needs to see a vet immediately. It's serious that there is a lot of blood coming out of her mouth, and this tooth will be extremely painful, which would be why she isn't eating or drinking. It could be that she has an infection of the tooth, and there is nothing you can do for her at home. I would call around clinics in your area to see if there is a low cost clinic nearby, check prices, call the Philippine SPCA for clinic costs, or see if your vet accepts payment plans. Please take her into a vet now, this is a medical emergency.
