How to stop my dog's mouth bleeding with slow blood clotting?

You should take him to your vets without delay. If he is bleeding a lot you vet will have to put your dog under general anaesthesia to stop the bleed. Also, it is important to find out why he is bleeding. It could be due to a problem in the mouth (large wound or cut on the tongue, bleeding mass etc) but it could be a problem with blood clotting.

I would recommend a cold pack for 10 to 15 minutes 2 to 3 times per day until resolved. I would also feed only soft food. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction! There is most likely a wound in the mouth which is why he is drooling. I highly recommend having him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Constant bleeding from the gums is not normal and not that easy to stop. It could be a bleeding disorder or a gum/teeth condition, it needs to be checked by a vet, if it's a tooth that is causing this, or something that is stuck in the gums, your dog will need to be put under sedation in order to solve this issue.

I would suspect a toxin that was ingested or a systemic disease that is causing abnormal bleeding into the surrounding tissues of the body. A nose bleed could be due to a clotting disorder, high blood pressure, a nasal infection or a nasal tumor. A tooth root abscess could also cause a nose bleed, and I could see how a tooth root abscess might bleed mainly during eating. Any of the other diseases would still be possible as well. Unfortunately I don’t think there is anything specific to do to prevent the nosebleeds from occurring without addressing the underlying cause. You should keep Pirate quiet and calm and could try elevating his food.

If Lucy is continually bleeding from the mouth, I have to disagree with your vet's assessment that everything is fine. There has to be some cause for the bleeding. Common causes of bleeding from the mouth would include some sort of trauma, dental issues, primary bleeding disorders (usually causing bleeding from the gumlines and inner lips), or some sort of bleeding mass inside the mouth that has ulcerated. I would be curious to know what kind of blood test was run. Was it a test to look at organ function, or was it a test to actually look at the blood's ability to clot appropriately? If your veterinarian did not perform an extremely thorough dental exam and oral exam, I would return and insist on it. You could also visit your local emergency clinic or another veterinarian to get a second opinion. Depending on the level of bleeding currently, you may want to go to the vet now rather than waiting. Since I can not physically see your dog, I always have to recommend going to the vet now in cases of active bleeding. Hope this helps.
