Why is my dog's dark green soft poop with white balls & upset stomach?

Hi ! Sorry to hear that Stell is not well. If she is still bright and eating well, she might have a bit of an upset tummy. You can try her on a bland diet of white meat and rice or Hill’ s gastro-intestinal formula for a couple of days, and some probiotics such as Canikur or Protekin Prokolin and see if things settle over the next 3-4 days. If she should still pass soft feaces then it’s best you bring in a feacal sample to your vet to be examined for parasites and bacteria.

Unfortunately a diagnosis can’t be made on stool color alone. Testing for intestinal parasite, liver disease, and issues with intestinal absorption would be warranted. Barley and cottage cheese don’t make up a completely balanced diet, and the lack of certain minerals in the diet can lead to stool color changes. Once your vet has a better idea of what may be going in internally, they can recommend a special diet or have you consult a nutritionist to formulate a balanced homemade diet.

I'm sorry to hear that Stinky isn't feeling well. I can't tell if the soft stool are vomiting are common for her or a new thing. If long term (more than a month), it could be caused by intestinal parasites, food intolerance or allergy, or less likely an endocrine issue. If it's a sudden change, she could have caused an acute entrogastritis by eating something different/bad, could have an infection, or many other causes. If she's eating well and energetic, it's not generally an emergency and you can wait to see if she gets better with time. A daily probiotic can help (anything you find at a store is fine, or you can buy Fortiflora on Amazon). If the vomiting has been going on for more than a few days, or is frequent (more than a couple times a day) I would recommend a vet visit when possible

It can be normal for the stool to be a variety of colors but since Biscuit pooped in the house (which I’m assuming is abnormal behavior for him) it’s possible that he’s about to have diarrhea. I’d recommend monitoring him closely and contacting your vet if diarrhea does develop.

Stool color can be altered by changes in food, especially if colors are added by the manufacturer, intestinal parasites, and intestinal bleeding. Intestinal bleeding can be caused by ulcers, parasites, or conditions such as IBD. This changes the color of the stool due to products of blood digestion, which are black to dark green in color. Kidney conditions can cause gastric ulcers as certain toxic compounds build up in the body and alter acid production of the stomach. It's possible the stool color change could be related to the chocolate ingestion, however being given charcoal usually results in dark colored stool (though green is not unheard of.) It may also be that there is some lingering GI upset causing Lindsey's symptoms. If she continues to have strange stool, act lethargic or painful, or hasn't seemed to have recovered from her trip to the vet, bringing her back in for additional care and testing as needed is best to get her on track to feeling better.

A hard stomach and abnormal feces are usually both a sign of a gastrointestinal problem, unfortunately there are many condition in the GI tract that could cause these symptoms, you should take her to the vet ASAP in order to get that checked.
