My dog has constant green eye goop. Is it serious or needs a vet?

The main reason is that greenish discharge can also be observed with things like a corneal ulcer or conjunctivitis for example. Your veterinarian could check for this and treat accordingly. If it's just the one eye there may be something going on on the corneal surface that you can't see with the naked eye. A vet would need to stain the eye to see a scratch. Dogs can get eye infections, allergies that lead to infections, scratches on the cornea and dry eye. These will all lead to increased eye discharge. Maverick’s discharge looks slightly green from the photos and this is generally indicative of an infection. If the green discharge lasts longer than 24hours, he seems uncomfortable, he is rubbing at the eye or he is squinting, he needs to see the veterinarian. The eye lids appear very red and with the history of the runny eye discharge with a sudden onset, there could be a scratch on the cornea or a foreign object trapped under the eye lid. An allergic reaction is also possible. Corneal scratches and foreign objects in the eye are uncomfortable and can get worse quickly. Unfortunately no, there are no OTC medications you can use on Bella's eye. If she has green pus, that can indicate an eye infection and she needs to see a vet right away. The eye is such a delicate and important structure that any problem with it should be considered an emergency. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take Bella into an ER vet now to diagnose and treat her eye.

Poor Pippa! I definitely see the discharge in the inner corner of her eye, and a little bit of redness. You should definitely have her examined by a vet as soon as possible, because eye issues can turn into emergencies very quickly. The discharge can be due to conjunctivitis, a foreign body, or even a scratch in the cornea (this condition is dangerous as it can quickly progress and even cause a dog to lose their eye). In the meantime, you can get Pippa an E-collar (or "cone") to prevent her from scratching the eye and causing further damage and apply artificial tears to the eye two to three times per day. I'm sorry your pup isn't feeling well. He needs to be check for an ulcer or scratch of his cornea- he needs to see a vet for that. You can rinse with contact solution and if no improvement in 12 hours, I would take him to the vet. Good luck and kisses to your pup!
