My dog has gas, diarrhea, and vomit. Should I fast both dogs?

Fasting for 12-24 hours is fine to give the GI tract a break, especially if the main problem was vomiting. The bland diet is fed for at least 3 days beyond the resolution of the diarrhea. Hi there, it sounds like they both have a touch of gastroenteritis which could have been picked up from the water or because of the new tests upsetting their tummies. I would starve them 24 hours then feed plain chicken and rice for a day. If they are getting worse go to the vet. Try and avoid letting them drink water outside from now on.

Hello, sorry to hear abut Lou. Indeed this may be a flare up of his colitis and a bland diet may help rest his GI tract enough so that he doesn't have a full episode of colitis. A fast should not be necessary if he is eating ok. Ultimately, it sounds like Lou may have intermittent GI sings long term and he may benefit from a diet trial, prophylactic medications and probiotics to improve her overall, longterm GI health.
