Mia’s flea meds protect against heart worms, does this mean she’s okay or do I have to still do some sort of heart worms treatment so she doesn’t get them? I called my vet to do heart worm prevention but they know that her flea meds protect against it, why wouldn’t they say something? Thank you to the vet on here who told me to check the flea meds package.

Revolution provides good flea and tick control but also is a common heartworm prevention. They make oral flea and tick medicines that last for one month (nexgard and simparica) or three months (bravecto) but these do not cover heartworms. The only pill to cover heartworms and fleas is Trifexis but it is not very good for ticks.
