My dog's flea collar failed in Florida. What's a better option?

The Seresto flea/tick collar is the only one on the market that is safe and effective - the others, including Adams, are often dangerously toxic for the dog and not effective at all for fleas in my experience. Advantix is definitely a better choice than PetArmor, but the most effective option available for fleas and ticks currently would be an oral medication like Nexgard or Bravecto. I would recommend getting a prescription from your veterinarian for one of these medications, if possible - this will eliminate the need for any topical medication or flea collars, and will also work much better.

The only flea collar that appears to work well is the Seresto collar. And even then, I can have a slower rate of kill for the fleas. The top products on the market our oral products such as some Perica and next guard. For most pets, these are good options that I recommend to call your veterinarian first and doublecheck. Also, you will need to treat all the pets in the household for six months to make sure you get through the entire fleet lifecycle. Best of luck.

If it does not seem to be working then I suggest you get him a different product. I like the oral pills either Bravecto or Nexgard. I would recommend starting Flea and tick prevention now. If you use a collar I would recommend the Seresto collar. If you didn't want the collar than using a pill is typically the best for dogs. I don't see a lot of fleas and/or ticks when people use those products instead of topical. You can use Bravecto, Nexguard or Simparica. I prefer spot-ons and chews over collars. The only collar I would recommend is Seresto. This, in my opinion would be superior to Frontline, as in many areas there are resistances to Frontline already.
