Dog has fever after vaccines. When to see emergency vet?

The safest option is always to have him seen immediately in case the fever is serious. With that said, the overall attitude is an important factor to consider when deciding if it's an emergency. As a general rule if a dog is still eating, drinking, and acting reasonably normal, it is probably ok to wait until tomorrow. Even if the appetite isn't completely normal, if you can entice a dog to eat treats or a little bit of bland chicken & rice, that's a good sign. On the other hand, if he is not eating anything, he's notably lethargic, or if there are other symptoms such as vomiting, then it's definitely best to have him seen as soon as possible. However, a fever could be a sign of many things like infections, inflammation among other possibilities. If he continues to feel unwell, I recommend you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. If it has been longer than this, it is likely unrelated to the vaccines that a good reason to have Saski evaluated by your veterinarian to ensure that there is not something else going on. Good luck! It sounds like he needs immediate care if he is not eating, he is lethargic and may have a fever. This sounds like a serious condition that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later. Your veterinarian will perform a full physical exam and determine what additional testing may need to be done (xrays, bloodwork) to give you a better idea of what treatments are needed. Good luck.

Hi. Yes, this can be normal. I would monitor her thru the evening. I would also make sure the fever isn't above 103 rectally. If there is vomiting, diarrhea, hives, trouble breathing, get him in right away. Good question. Good luck.

If it is not the vet who vaccinated him make sure to let them know he had a reaction so they can note in his chart and report it to the vaccine company. I hope Theo feels better soon.

A fever is very concerning, especially in a pup this young. I would have him seen as soon as possible to figure out the source of the fever. There are many causes of fever, but certainly infection would be a consideration, and quite worrisome, in a pup this young.
