My dog's eyes smell bad and she seems blind. Is it cataracts?

This could possibly be cataract but there are many other eye diseases that could cause the eyes to look like this. she is not going to die but she needs to be seen by a vet ASAP in order to diagnose the eye condition properly and then treat it so she can see well again.

The black spots on Bambi’s belly look like pigmentation which can happen after there has been skin disease or excessive itching. It also looks like she may have some red areas including the spot near her nipple which could be a bacterial skin infection. Her eyes might be cloudy from cataracts or an age related lens change known as nuclear sclerosis. Unfortunately I think the only way you’ll be able to know what is causing Bambi’s symptoms for certain would be to have an exam with a veterinarian. Pictures can be deceiving but it looks like she may have developed cataracts and i recommend a full vet check as soon as possible to rule out medical causes such as diabetes and other hormonal conditions. Surgical removal is often possible to restore vision

It's a little difficult to tell in you picture but it looks like there is something in the anterior chamber of Lady's eye between the iris and the clear cornea - this might be inflammatory cells or the iris may be bowed forward. A cataract is an opacity on the lens behind the pupil. Lady's eye definitely looks abnormal and I would worry about her vision in that eye however - I would recommend having a vet examine the eye in person to determine what might need to happen next.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Spatsie! From your pictures, the affected area is either with in the anterior chamber or the corneal surface of the eye. It is not the lens so it is likely not nuclear sclerosis or a cataract. With glaucoma the eye is very red, enlarged, and painful. From your picture the sclera (white part of the eye) doens't apear red. Glaucomoa is diagnosed based on measuring the intra-ocular pressure of the eye with a tonopen or other device. My worry is that the white substance is white blood cells (hypopyon) with in the anterior chamber (which can lead to glaucoma). Corneal ulcers, corneal abscesses, uveitis, and systemic illnesses commonly cause hypopyon. The other possibility is a severe corneal ulcer. Spatsie needs to have his eye examined by a Veterinarian. Surgically, you can have these removed but this procedure typically costs $3000 per eye in my experience. It is possible that the cataracts could be due to diabetes but without blood work, it is difficult to say. Even if this was due to diabetes, there is no reversing the condition once developed. The skin could be a skin infection or allergy. I would recommend using the following products, which can all be found online to see if this helps the skin. I hope this helps! From your description, Tink may have dry eye that has lead to ulcer formation on the cornea. If not treated, this can become much more severe. This could also be cataracts forming with incidental dry eye that you have noticed as well. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Tink so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps!
