What's that thing in my dog's eye? Is it a scar or serious problem?

Hello. From this picture that could be a small scar, could be a small bit of hair loss from many causes (scratching, infection, etc), could be inflammation of the gland, or could just be a wart or something. I would just keep an eye on it and if it bothers him or grows or changes, or if he starts squinting, to have it seen by a vet. Good luck with him!

Looks like that could be a little scar on the cornea (clear part of the front of the eye). If he is actively seeming bothered by it, please take him to your vet in case he has corneal ulcer currently. If it is not bothering him now, it could be a scar from a small corneal ulcer he had in the past. It could also be a lipid or cholesterol deposit, though those are usually very central on the cornea. Hello, depending on what caused the purulent material on her eye, what you are seeing now may be consistent with scar tissue. Now, if she is having any discharge, if the normal white part of the eye (sclera) is red, or if she has bright red conjunctiva, then she should definitely be evaluated by a veterinarian. I would not recommend putting anything else into her eye until you have your veterinarian evaluate her. If she has an ulcer or an infection, putting the wrong medications in her eye may lead to a worsening condition and even the loss of her eye. I would definitely have her seen by your veterinarian if you are concerned she could be in pain or if you think her eye is not looking any better by tomorrow. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Hello, yes you definitely need to take him to your vet to get it checked, it's most likely a corneal ulcer, this can happen due to an injury or eye infection, often it can get worse and even cause blindness in that eye, it needs to be treated with special eye drops

This is a very abnormal looking eye and it appears that your dog has some serious issues with the cornea. The cornea is very cloudy and hazy and the pink lesion looks like a large ulcer on the cornea. This eye is likely chronically dry and lacking in tear production. This eye looks like it is in imminent danger of rupturing. I would recommend that you take your pet to the closest emergency clinic if you are unable to get help from a regular daytime vet right away. Your pet should be seen immediately and it is not a good idea to wait for 7 days. Your pet will likely need multiple prescription eye medications and possibly surgery in order to repair the defect. Please do not try to treat this without a proper diagnosis and proper medication.

Poor Hurah! I can't see his eye very well in this photo, but any cloudiness is always cause for concern. Depending on the specific part of the eye that looks cloudy, this could be caused by glaucoma, a corneal scratch or ulcer, a severe eye infection, or cataracts. I would definitely recommend taking Hurah in to see a vet as soon as you are able to. He/she can examine the eye using a special stain if needed to help diagnose the problem and get him started on appropriate treatment.
