Will my dog's eye be easily hurt after grid keratotomy healing?

Any scarring on the cornea will cause changes to the vision. Pets with this condition can also get pigmentation of the cornea which will also cause blind spots. KCS is generally a chronic and requires daily treatment with an immune suppressant eye drop like cyclosporin and an artificial tear. That depends. A corneal lesion should be healed by 50%+ within 3 days for normal healing. The total surface area needs to be taken into account to gauge the healing. The best person to answer this question is the veterinarian who is caring for Taurie. They know how big and how deep the ulcer is. Hello. Yes, because the scar is on the cornea, as the cornea moves so does the scar. The scar may become less obvious with time, but there will probably always be some sort of spot there. Hello, depending on what caused the purulent material on her eye, what you are seeing now may be consistent with scar tissue. Now, if she is having any discharge, if the normal white part of the eye (sclera) is red, or if she has bright red conjunctiva, then she should definitely be evaluated by a veterinarian. I would not recommend putting anything else into her eye until you have your veterinarian evaluate her. If she has an ulcer or an infection, putting the wrong medications in her eye may lead to a worsening condition and even the loss of her eye. I would definitely have her seen by your veterinarian if you are concerned she could be in pain or if you think her eye is not looking any better by tomorrow. Hope this helps and best of luck.

As long as the eye is not red and Otis does not seem to have eye pain, I would hust monitor this for now. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Gizmo! The cloudiness likely just indicated the edema in the cornea. That can go away quickly. Superficial (not deep) corneal ulcers heal in 5-7 days. Since you can still see the ulcer and since it was deep I do not think the ulcer itself is healed yet, just the surrounding cornea. These may be small corneal ulcers or scratches, which can take a long time to heal and may be painful. If not treated properly, the ulcer or scratch can become very deep, become infected, and melt the cornea. However, at the moment, I do not see any signs of this in Aron's eye. You may want to get a second opinion from an ophthalmologist, who can prescribe additional medication and perform a procedure to speed up the healing process. I hope this helps and that all is well!
