Have your dog seen by a vet. Your dog could have an eye infection or may have injury his eye. Any eye problem needs to be checked out by a vet promptly as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss.

Hello,

I am concerned that her drooping eye may be a sign of either infection or nerve damage. I would recommend taking Nikki to see her veterinarian when possible this week to be evaluated.

A sudden onset of droopiness to the eye could signify an infection or a neurological problem. I recommend to play it safe and have Macy examined by the veterinarian.
Make sure Macy cannot rub at the eye because this could make it worse. she may need to wear an elizabethan collar.

Eye problems are always very concerning and Pup Pup will need to be examined by a veterinarian ASAP. Corneal ulcers and injuries can cause loss of vision, are painful and can be caused even by crusty eye lids scraping on the eye ball. The fact that the eye is swollen and the the lower lid is drooping does point to a more serious problem. Please take her to an emergency vet today.

Poor Benny! The redness and drooping of his eye could be due to an eye infection, injury to his eye, or allergies. The eye is such a delicate and important structure that any problem with it is an emergency. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. I would recommend having the I examined by a veterinarian so that further testing can be done to rule out possible causes. There could be trauma to the eye itself or an infection. In order to rule these out I would suggest having the vet take a look at the eye. For trauma to the surface of the eye, a simple stain test is performed to see if there is any retention of the stain on any area of the surface of the eye. I recommend getting this checked by your vet. It could be a small injury, it could be a form of mange, it could be an infection, there's no way to know for sure without an exam. Your vet will do an exam, probably a skin scrape of the affected area and based on these results, will be better able to tell you what is going on and what the best treatment will be.
