My pug has an eye infection for three days. When should I see a vet?

This is a corneal injury (likely an ulcer) which in pug requires immediate check up treatment to avoid the ulceration to worsen (often pugs can have a so called ''melting ulcer'' which can lead to eye perforation quite easily).

For trauma to the surface of the eye, a simple stain test is performed to see if there is any retention of the stain on any area of the surface of the eye. Poor Bruno. He should be on oral anti-fungal medication +/- topical antifungal cream or shampoo, depending on what areas of his body is affected. For really resistant infections often pets need extended time on the medication which can be anywhere from 2-6 weeks. I know it's tough to be compliant for that long, but it may be necessary to clear Bruno's infected skin completely and for good.
