My dog has an ear growth. What can I do at home without surgery?

I wish I had a good home remedy option for you, but apple cider vinegar or hydrogen peroxide will not resolve that mass. Similar to what your doctor did for you, your vet may be able to use liquid nitrogen and freeze the mass off, but that would require a trip to the vet. There is a salve called blood root salve that some people will use at home, but is considered potentially very dangerous and not recommended to be used for benign masses or without veterinary supervision, so I would not recommend trying that on this particular mass. I would recommend having your veterinarian evaluate the mass and decide if they can remove it with a local anesthetic or with liquid nitrogen. Good luck! I hope that answered your question. Hello. Unfortunately, this type of growth can only be surgically removed by your veterinarian. Until you can plan to have the surgery, try to keep it clean by using warm soapyvwater and dabbing it dry. It would be best to have this looked at as soon as you can and discuss the necessary surgery with your veterinarian.

Poor guy. This lump appears to be a huge mass and possible polyp. You will need to get this tested by your vet and seriously consider surgical removal of the mass. If left there this mass has a good chance of causing chronic ear infection, pain, and also can continue to grow. It is best to get this removed, so please consult with your veterinarian to devise a good plan for Little Bit in the near future. I hope that LIttle bit's ear mass gets resolved soon. Even young dogs can develop growths like histiocytomas and mast cell tumors, among many others. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. The treatment for it will really depend on what it is so there is no general cream or ointment to put on these types of growths. If he has been scratching at it, you can consider using an e-collar while you wait to take him to your veterinarian and this will prevent any selft-trauma if that is currently an issue. Sheesh!! I am surprised that a vet suggested cutting Snoofy's ear. It sounds like she may have an ear hematoma which is a blood blister, often caused by an ear infection. Your vet can try to drain the blood and then apply a bandage, there is also a product called the "no flap ear wrap " that can help prevent it re forming after draining. If you do nothing, she will get scar tissue and have an odd shaped ear. She may need treatment for an ear infection.

It is difficult to say for sure what the mass is exactly without further testing. If you want a definitive answer, I would recommend having a veterinarian doing some more testing on the mass by inserting a small needle into the mass and looking at the cells under the microscope. As for the itching, I would recommend the below following products. This could be ear mites (not visible to the human eye usually). This could also be a hypersensitivity reaction to some other insect (ant, mosquito, flea). Finally, it is possible to have allergies manifest only in the ears.
