My 2-month-old puppy is lethargic after nap, dry nose. Is he sick?

I am sorry to hear this! Typically a sensitivity to a food change would have symptoms like an upset stomach such as diarrhea so if it is mainly lethargy it may or may not be related.... Anytime a puppy of that age is acting lethargic for longer than a day or two warrants a check up. If it has only been a few hours, I would try to get her to do some of her normal activities like playing or walking to see if she perks up. If she still seems to feel dumpy you may want to take her in to be safe! I hope this helps and that she feels herself again soon!

This is because a dog's nose can go from wet and cold to warm and dry just by laying in the sun or next to the heat source. The lethargy is a little more concerning. It's a very general sign of illness, and can be caused by systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. If Winston is eating and drinking, and his only symptom is lethargy, you can watch him for now. Keep him warm and comfortable. Should this lethargy continue over the next 48 hours, or he develops other signs such as coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, sneezing, nasal discharge, or anorexia, he will have to see a vet. Poor Ellie! This could be from teething or just a little tired if she didn’t sleep well or played too hard yesterday. It could also be due to certain viruses or parasites. Usually you would see other signs like loose stool or not eating but not always. If she continues to be lethargic I would have your vet take a look at her Your vet will be able to do a fecal and even blood work to ensure everything is okay. They will be able to give her some meds if needed. I hope this helps!

A dry or wet nose doesn’t tell us a lot about their health but dogs shouldn’t have green discharge from the nose. I recommend taking him to a vet for an exam. They may need to take an X-ray to make sure it’s not in his lungs. They can also start him on antibiotics for the infection. Good luck and kisses to Percy!

Any continued abnormal symptoms (longer than 24 hours) warrants a vet exam. I cannot tell you what is wrong with her just by your description. Her symptoms are very vague and could be due to almost any illness. Please get her a vet exam as soon as you can.

Your pet needs to be seen by a vet right away. Even with no other symptoms, extreme lethargy is very concerning. Your dog may have eaten something that disagreed with her, swallowed something that has caused an obstruction, has parasites, is coming down with some kind of infection, there are a number of possibilities. Your vet will do an exam and labwork to determine the cause of your pets symptoms and give you some treatment options based on those results.

If Ludo was active all day, and is eating and drinking, then likely he's sleeping because he's simply tired from the full day. I would not worry about the temperature or wetness of his nose; it is not used as a sign if illness in pets because it can change to warm and dry simply by the animal sitting in the sun or near a heat source. I would monitor him for now, let him rest from his busy day, and if he continues to be lethargic for another 24-48 hours, then I would bring him into the vet for a health check.
