My dog drank drain cleaner water from a backed-up tub. Is he okay?

I think she will be ok. If she has not shown any signs of stomach trouble, or gagging or similar signs of problems, there is probably nothing to worry about. Usually those cleaners are not so toxic anymore, at worst, they are caustic. If that cleaner had been caustic, then your dog would have shown problems right away. (drooling, gagging, etc.)

I would just keep an eye on him as the ingestion of the bath water may have caused a bit of GI upset. You can pick up his food for a few hours and then offer a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice to help soothe minor GI upset. If the vomiting continues, he can't keep anything down, becomes lethargic, or has bloody stool or vomit, then seeking veterinary care ASAP is best to make sure there isn't something more serious ongoing.

Consider an exam and diagnostics with your veterinarian since conservative treatment has not improved the condition. Blood work can assess major organ function. Endoscopy may diagnose damage done to the esophagus or stomach by the CLR. Supportive care (IV or subcutaneous fluids, gastric protectants and parenteral nutrition) may be indicated until a diagnosis is reached or until your dog recovers.

Hi and thank you for your post! Drano can be very corrosive to the mouth, stomach, and esophagus. If she did drink any drano, you may see signs such as oral ulcers or burns around the mouth and tongue. If she begins licking her lips frequently, drooling, vomiting, or lack of appetite tonight I would see an emergency veterinarian right away. In case Gia did consume some Drano, you can give Gia some milk to dilute the product or fresh water. You can also wash around his mouth and paws with soap and water like you have done with his recent bath. Do not try to induce vomiting. Depending on the dilution, you may see some irritation in and around the mouth as well as vomiting and/or diarrhea. If Nala drank a large quantity, get her to your veterinarian or to the nearest veterinary ER. Either may induce vomiting via injection if indicated. Monitor for lethargy, drooling, pawing at the mouth or GI upset. Symptoms typically develop soon after ingestion.

Had should be okay, you may notice he starts to salivate quite a bit, but it doesnt sound like he ate too much. Keep an eye for signs of an upset tummy and if he seems very poorly take him to the vet.

If he drank some he would develop ulcers in his mouth, tongue, and esophagus, depending on the strength. He would likely be drooling, have no appetite, difficulty breathing, panting and painful. If you aren't seeing any of these signs then he probably didn't contact any. If he is, he needs veterinary care immediately.
