What are the most effective eye drops for a pet's corneal ulcer?

I’m sorry to hear about Sky! There is no over the counter drop/ointment that I am aware of. Reasons the eye may not be healing: 1) If you have not put Sky in an E-collar, do so right away. This is one of the most common reasons they will not heal because the dog will rub and scratch at the eye. Can order online or find at a vet or pet shop. 2) it may not be healing is if Sky has an underlying condition such as dry eye. 3) Sky needs an additional or different medication. 4) we need to increase treatments from twice a day to three or four times a day. Call your vet and let them know what’s going on so they can make a suggestion about what to try next.

I’m sorry to hear about Mikki’s eye! A saline contact rewetting drop like Blinks or Refresh contacts drops are fine for providing moisture. I would avoid contact solution because it often has other stabilizers and things in there. You want saline only. As a side note, this will not cure the ulcer (which is infected likely if there is discharge)- you’ll need an antibiotic eye drop or eye ointment from your veterinarian. However, it is nice for helping remove that discharge and for overall eye comfort. Mikki also needs an E-collar to prevent rubbing or scratching at the eye- which is a common reason they do not heal. Hello, sorry to hear about Lily. Exocin is a topical antibiotic. You should aim to apply it at minimum every 6-8 hours until her recheck. If you are able to, you should apply this drops every 2 hours for the first 2 days, then every 4 hours for 5 days as recommended. Superficial ulcers take about 3-5 days to heal and you should see significant improvement in Lily's symptoms within 2-3 days. If you are not seeing improvement by day 5, then you should have a recheck with your veterinarian promptly. Best of luck and hope Lily has a speedy recovery.

Based on this picture, that looks like a fairly superficial corneal ulceration. Oral antibiotics are not the treatment for this sort of issue, as direct ophthalmic medications will be required. The treatment will be aimed at preventing secondary infection,, reducing inflammation / pain, and mending the corneal surface. Otis will also need to wear a cone to make sure that he doesn't try and scratch at the eye and make matters worse for himself. This issue is not life-threatening, but the ulcer will definitely get worse if it is not treated quickly and properly, particularly if he is the kind of dog that will bother at it. If you've been to the vet already, he may have put a stain in the eye and then looked with a special light to see the actual depth of the ulcer. He will be able to tell you if the ulcer is actually superficial or if goes deeper than it appears in the picture. Hope this all makes sense.

Yes it is correct and is a standard type of treatment for superficial corneal ulcers. Apply it 3-4 times daily and store it in the fridge. A buster collar would be helpful to avoid any scratching/rubbing.
