My dog's congested nose bleeds when she clears it. Why won't she eat?

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Being unable to walk and not wanting to eat are very concerning for many possible underlying disease processes. It could be that she is painful, this can cause reluctance to walk and eat. This can be caused by an injury to the spine (unable to walk, dragging back legs, wobbly), abdominal pain (usually a hunched back, tense abdomen when you touch it, short stiff steps with the back legs), or she could have other causes of pain. I recommend you bring her to a vet, they will do an exam, and might do x-rays or bloodwork as well, depending on what they find on exam. Best of luck with Cherry.

Nose bleeds that are persistent in an older dog are highly suspicious of cancer or a fungal infection. Trauma to the nose is also possible, but unlikely to result in chronic bleeding episodes. I am so sorry but Bubbalina needs to be seen by your vet right away for testing (Bloodwork +.- radiographs). If cancer is present, then steroids may be recommended to try and slow down the progression and also supportive care can be provided to Bubbalina to hopefully make her more comfortable. Poor Daisy! She is an older girl, and unfortunately this sneezing with blood in her snot could be due to a malignant growth (cancer) in her nasal cavity. It could also be due to a foreign body, fungal infection, or respiratory infection. Because this has been ongoing for a while, it's best that Daisy is seen by a vet either today or tomorrow. The vet can do a physical exam, blood tests, urinalysis, x-rays, and may look up her nasal cavity with an endoscope to diagnose what is causing her symptoms. Once a cause is found, the vet can discuss treatment options with you.

Oh dear! Nasal bleeding (referred to as epistaxis) is concerning for Kimchi. This can occur due to nasal infections (bacterial or fungal), foreign material in the nasal passages (such as grasses or awns), bleeding disorders or nasal tumors (benign or malignant). Since she otherwise seems normal, it does not sound as though you need to rush to an ER vet today. You can wait and take her to the vet tomorrow for evaluation. I hope that all goes well!

Congratulations on your adoption of Tank! That is a fair count of mucus draining from his nose. He likely has an upper respiratory infection from being in the shelter. He will need to be evaluated by a veterinarian to ensure this is the problem and nothing more serious. He will need to be prescribed medication as well. He can have the skin on his nose assessed at the same. In the meantime, keep encouraging him to eat and drink what he will. Keep him close to home and not around other dogs in case he is contagious. Hi there and thanks for posting. Oh dear I"m sorry to hear Lucky is not feeling well. It sounds like he has a bad upper respiratory infection that may be bacterial, viral, or maybe fungal. He may need a bacterial culture and a chest x-ray to determine what the type of upper respiratory infection he has and that will help determine what best medication to place Lucky on. This is important to do especially if his symptoms are not getting any better. The drinking a lot of water is also concerning. I would recommend blood work on Lucky to check for endocrine disorders and diabetes that could be causing the increased water intake. I would be concerned about possible damage to the sinus tissue, a platelet disorder leading to her bleeding easier or even something like a bacterial infection causing a vasculitis which is when the blood vessels get leaky. I would recommend Lucy get checked out by her veterinarian so they can make sure she doesn't have any sort of bleeding issue or infection as if either those are present this could get worse.
