Why aren't my English bulldog's cloudy eyes improving after vet meds?

Poor Rocky! Those eyes do look irritated. He may have a distichia (a stray lash on the inside of the eyelid; as apposed the the eyelids rolling in--entropion which I think is what you are describing he had). Sometimes these cannot be found without magnification. Its also possible that he has another condition such as uveitis (inflammation inside the layer of eye that involves the retina), or he may have KCS, also known as dry eye. If a shermer tear test has not yet been done by your vet, you might ask about it; this is a simple test for dry eye. It may be very beneficial for Rocky to see a veterinary ophthalmologist since he's having some ongoing problems. Specialists can be extremely helpful in these cases. This is usually treated with medicated eye drops such as Tacrolimus though there are different medications that can be used depending on its severity. However, tacrolimus is a commonly used medication for this. Your veterinarian could prescribe this. Good luck!

This is likely to be due to a corneal ulceration, possibly due the enrolling of the lower eyelid and its rubbing against the eye surface. The blue discoloration is due to the presence of inflammation in the anterior chamber of the eye. The other signs seems to be related to the ulcer. I would recommend another check up to determine the underlying cause of it more specifically and give appropriate treatment. Serum and antibiotic eye drops will be needed.

Poor Yoda. That I does look cloudy from the pictures but I can only see so much. I am assuming that TobraDex is actually Tobramycin ophthalmic antibiotic. And since you did not mention any other medications, I will also assume that this is the only medication you are using. I believe that Yoda should be taken back to the veterinarian as soon as you can. The reason being is that two days with and wait meant applied as often as you are applying should be causing this all right to almost be back to normal by now. My concern is that there may be something else that needs to be added to your treatment regimen. for instance, maybe you have a possible infection in the eye that is resistant to the Tobramycin. or maybe there is a lot of inflammation and an anti-inflammatory medication needs to be added. But I would not wait any longer to go back into the veterinarian and have them do an ophthalmic examination again. You may want to check for another corneal stain, tear test, fundic exam, etc. I hope that you guys are able to get Yoda’s Eye on the road to recovery.

This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. Since Toby has not improved on his medications, I highly recommend that you have Toby reevaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If Brian is under Veterinary care and is receiving antibiotic eye drops prescribed by your vet then the ulcer should heal. Most uncomplicated ulcers heal with in 5-7 days. You should recheck with your Vet to be sure it has healed. I do not think cold air caused the ulcer or will make it worse. Dust, running into branches or other plant material may have caused the original injury so I would leash walk him and don't leave him outdoors long unsupervised until the eye has healed. It is usually caused by a scratch, foreign material, blunt trauma, or caustic substance irritation to the eye. You need to take Zeus to your local vets for an appointment as soon as possible. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, Zeus most likely will need a course of eye drops and anit-inflammatory medication. Untreated corneal ulcer can turn into a melting ulcer, which can cause loss of vision in that eye.
