Is my dog's clear urine caused by her diet of curd, lauki, chapatti?

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Urine can look deceptively clear, but still be perfectly normal. The only way to know for sure is to collect a sample of urine in a clean container & take it to your vet ( or take Scribbles to the vet for a complete check up ). We can do a quickie urinalysis that includes a measure of the dissolved solids in urine. This is a very good indication of what her overall kidney function might be. But as long as she has resumed eating & drinking, it is not an emergency, but at her age, a good check up might be in order. Take care.

His urine is very dilute from drinking lots of water. If he had a problem with his kidneys, you could see blood in his urine, peeing multiple times but in small amounts, lethargy, and possibly a loss of appetite. I hope this helps!

Very dilute urine can be a sign of good hydration, however it can also be a sign of kidney function decrease. The kidneys are in charge of the boys' fluid reserves, however if they start to decline they can stip being able to concentrate urine. This is less likely in a fog of Oliver's age. If you notice only clear urine for a week I would advise taking him to the veterinarian for blood work to check kidney function. If it fluctuates bwteeen normal color and clear it less likely anything of concern.

It's normal for puppies to have very clear, dilute urine because their kidneys are still developing. They can also get urinary tract infections and other issues as well. I would recommend scheduling a vet visit (or telling them you want to talk about this issue when you schedule his next vaccine appointment) and using a small tuberware to catch his first urination of the morning to bring to that appointment. They can check to see how concentrated his urine is. Keep the urine in the fridge if it's going to be more than 30-60 minutes until your appointment. Good luck!

One of the most common reasons that urine becomes darker is if a puppy is dehydrated. If Loki is not drinking normally, that may be a concern. Food change should not cause a change in the color of the urine unless you changed from a wet food to a dry food and they are not drinking enough water to compensate for that change. Other reasons for urine color to become darker include problems with red blood cells or muscle cells. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Chutki. She needs to see her veterinarian right away. She may have a severe urinary tract infection, bladder stones or even a bleeding disorder. If a bleeding disorder is present, the dog will typically have bruising on the belly or on the gums. Regardless, she will require treatment. I hope this information helps. Good luck!

Hello, sorry to hear about Delilah. It unusual for the veggies and blueberries to make her urine darker. Given that female dogs are more likely to UTIs, I would recommend having her checked for this to make sure she doesn't need antibiotics. Alternatively, you can continue to monitor her if she otherwise seems like her normal self, and if she has further episodes of dark colored urine, then have her seen by your veterinarian.
