You can but it would be best to have a vet administer the vaccinations so they can talk to you about what else she may need. She will also needs boosters. So, technically, yes you can give that vaccination yourself if you feel comfortable doing it. Two more boosters 3-4 week apart would be needed afterwards. Mabel will be due for a rabies vaccination by 16 weeks of age and that has to be administered by a vet (this is law) so you are best off taking her and getting them all done together. If you vaccinate now, they should receive boosters at around 12-13 weeks, and then the third series 4 weeks later. They only need the three rounds. If you give Spectra 5 the first time, I would recommend Spectra 10 for the next two series. The Spectra 10 vaccinates against leptospirosis, and they need to have that twice, 4 weeks apart. Make sure they also receive a rabies vaccination with a veterinarian at 16 weeks of age. All vaccines will need to be boostered in 1 year. If at 5 months, this will be the first time he will be receiving vaccines, then I would recommend he receive his rabies vaccine and distemper-hepatitis-parvovirus vaccine as well as bordetella if he will be around other dogs or kenneled. He will need a booster of the distemper and bordetella in 3-4 weeks. Hello The vaccine schedule for an older dog is slightly different than for puppies as usually they require only 2-3 injections. However vaccines purchased from a store or online are not held to the same standards in terms of cold storage and handling so many times they can be damaged and ineffective. I recommend checking with your veterinarian as to which vaccines are recommended for your area (such as Lyme, Lepto) and what your pet will be exposed to and discussing a specific vaccine schedule for him. Your veterinarian can also give more exact price quotes and some corporate practices offer wellness plans for vaccines.

She is cute! If she hasn't already received a disptemper/parvo combination vaccine then she should have one now. Other vaccines that may be necessary are leptospirosis, bordetella, Lyme, and influenza. She will also need a Rabies vaccine between 12 - 16 weeks of age. The best thing would be to have her examined by your vet and he/she can develop a vaccine schedule specifically for her based on her risk of exposure and her age. She will also need heartworm prevention, as well as flea and tick prevention and your vet can help determine which product is best for her.
