Hello, congratulations on your new puppy. He will need 3 sets of vaccines 2 weeks apart each set. Vaccinations include to protect against distemper, parvovirus, parainfluenza, adenovirus, bordetella, and rabies. You should also discuss checking his stool for parasites and deworming him. Hello. Your puppy is a little young for vaccinations, but I would encourage you to have him seen by your veterinarian for a good wellness exam & stool check for fecal parasites. Between 6 - 8 weeks, he should be vaccinated for distemper, parvo, adenovirus, & parainfluenza. 12 weeks, he should be vaccinated again & lepto, possibly bordatella, will be added. At 16 weeks, another booster vaccination & rabies will be administered. all vaccinations will be repeated in 1 year. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

At the very least, she will need 2 distemper/parvovirus (DA2P) vaccines spaced 3-4 weeks apart and one Rabies vaccine.
Lifestyle vaccines, given based on risk of exposure, include Bordatella, Leptospirosis, Lyme and Canine Influenza.

Typically a distemper/parvo vaccination is recommended every 3-4 weeks from 6 weeks of age till between 18 and 20 weeks. Rabies vaccination is usually given at 12 weeks. Bordetella may be recommended by your veterinarian too depending on your location and intended activities with Pablo. Some parts of the country vaccinate for Lyme disease, and there are also some other less common vaccinations which your vet may recommend depending on the prevalence of disease in your local area. You will also need to enquire about a deworming protocol, heartworm prevention and flea and tick prevention.

It's recommended to start the vaccination process at the age of 2 months or alternatively not taking your dog out at all until you do. the recommended vaccinations are 6 in 1 vaccine (it is given 2-3 times 2-4 weeks apart) and Rabies which is usually done last, each vaccine is done separately.

Hello The vaccine schedule for an older dog is slightly different than for puppies as usually they require only 2-3 injections. However vaccines purchased from a store or online are not held to the same standards in terms of cold storage and handling so many times they can be damaged and ineffective. I recommend checking with your veterinarian as to which vaccines are recommended for your area (such as Lyme, Lepto) and what your pet will be exposed to and discussing a specific vaccine schedule for him. Your veterinarian can also give more exact price quotes and some corporate practices offer wellness plans for vaccines.

Puppy is 5 months, no shots. Can he get all vaccinations at once?

If at 5 months, this will be the first time he will be receiving vaccines, then I would recommend he receive his rabies vaccine and distemper-hepatitis-parvovirus vaccine as well as bordetella if he will be around other dogs or kenneled. He will need a booster of the distemper and bordetella in 3-4 weeks. At your first appointment with Sash's vet, you and the veterinarian can decide what other vaccines are recommended based on Sash's risk level and health status. I hope this helps!

What vaccines are recommended for my 4-month-old puppy's first shots?

Hello and congratulations on adding Lilly to your family! Your core vaccines at this age need to be Distemper/Parvo and a Bordetella. She is older enough to start Leptospirosis and Lyme disease if these are indicated based upon where you live. Ask the vet if she would recommend these vaccines. Lilly will need another set of boosters in 3 weeks and she will be old enough to get her Rabies vaccine at that age. You may also discussed separating some of these vaccines so Lilly is not receiving 4-5 at one time. Hope this helps!

Hello, Oso should be vaccinated with a Distemper, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, Hepatitis, and coronavirus. Additionally, he should also be vaccinated for rabies and bordetella. Canine Spectra 5 is ok to give Leo, but he will also need a rabies vaccine. The rabies vaccine is required by law in most US states, and it can only be given by a veterinarian. You will need to make an appointment with a vet to get this done. Both vaccines will need a booster four weeks after the first vaccine to give full immunity. I hope this helps!

How to get vet shots for my reactive dog? Can she be sedated?

A pit bull is a big enough dog to get as many vaccines at once that she needs. You will need to discuss what she needs with your vet. It depends on her lifestyle, where you live, etc. The core vaccinations that all dogs need are DA2PP (distemper, parvo, hepatitis) and rabies. Other vaccines again, are dependent on her lifestyle. If she is not good around other dogs I would just call the vet clinic you are planning to take her to and tell them the situation. I am sure they can arrange to take you guys directly into an exam room so you don't have to wait in the lobby with other dogs. You can also go in by yourself when you arrive and once the lobby is clear from other dogs you can go out and bring her in. Most vet clinics are very accommodating to this. I strongly suggest you use an independent vet clinic and not one located in a pet store like Banfield because they will never be free of other dogs. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
