My dog has different bumps and soupy poop. Are they connected?

From your description, it sounds as though Muffin has a bacterial skin infection and the bumps you are seeing are pustules. If he is lethargic and having diarrhea in addition to the pustules on the skin, I would recommend taking him in to be seen by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. Poor Areisa. I am sorry that you all are going through of this. Without seeing her or any of the tests, it is impossible for me to say exactly what the problem is. If the masses on her skin have been there for awhile and your vet has looked at them, then they are most likely benign. If your vet hasn't looked at them then I would have your vet take a look. They may want to aspirate them to see if they are concerning. As for the mass in the colon, I doubt it is related to the masses on the skin. If they just did an x-ray, I would talk to them about whether or not they can do an abdominal ultrasound as they may be able to get a better look at this mass and if it is truly in the colon. Your vet can also refer you to a specialist for an ultrasound or an colonscopy to get a better idea of what is going on in the colon. They are a lot of things that can cause a lost of mobility of one leg like a nerve sheath tumor, a disc abnormality, a clot in the spine, severe arthritis, discospondylosis, and much more. Most of the time degenerative myelopathy cause weakness in BOTH rear legs. It is great news that she is negative for that. I would talk to your vet about starting her on some meds to help with that legs or you could seek out a integrative vet in your area that does acupuncture and Chinese herbs. I have seen great results with these situations using this type of meds on top of western meds. I hope this helps!

It's difficult to tell exactly what is going on on Poe's head based on the picture alone, but I would be suspicious of an adenoma, which are typically benign skin tumors we find on older dogs. They often do not cause any problems and are more of a cosmetic issue. Sometimes we have to do a fine needle aspirate to collect cells from the lump and look at it under the microscope to be able to determine what it is. I am concerned that he is constipated as he is likely very uncomfortable because of that. My other concern is that he could have diarrhea. Constipation and diarrhea can look very similar with the dog straining and not producing any stool. The best thing to do would be to take Poe into your vet for treatment of the constipation (or diarrhea) and have your vet look at the lumps at the same time.

Poor guy. The hard lump is hard to say what it is without a photo. It could be a condition called folliculitis or even a pustule (infected pocket). However, with bloody diarrhea, I would highly recommend taking Merlo in to your vet to get him examined and stool tested. Lots of things can cause loose bloody stool including: parvovirus infection, pancreatitis (usually causes vomiting as well and decreased appetite), stress colitis, etc. Once Merlo is examined, the vet will likely put him on a short course of antibiotics and probiotics at the very least for the loose stool. The hard lump will have to be examined first to determine what, if anything, needs to be done for this as well. I hope that your furry friend Merlo gets these issues resolved soon! They don't "sound" cancerous, but you would need biopsies or aspirates done by your veterinarian to diagnose or rule out malignancy. Given his breed, the skin symptoms likely have an allergic component. You should have him examined by your veterinarian for confirmation. Antihistamines and antibiotics may be indicated. Discuss allergy testing, hydrolyzed diets and food elimination trials with your veterinarian. The blood in the stool may be due to parasites, inflammation or gastrointestinal upset. Submit a stool sample to your veterinarian to diagnose intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth. Fast Jax for 24 hours, allowing small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet in small frequent, amounts until symptoms resolve. Transition slowly to the regular diet afterwards. If the bloody stool worsens or if Jax develops lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite or abdominal pain then have him examined by your veterinarian.

Oh my. Poor girl. This is either a hernia or a really badly infected anal gland. I would highly recommend taking her to your vet asap to have this evaluated. Poor girl. It looks like she has a severe allergic skin reaction and secondary bacterial infection of her skin. I wouldn't suspect her c-section and incision site are the cause of this. However, to get rid of this infection and help control her allergic reaction, she will need to see your vet for prescription medications. Until you can get her seen, it is best to clean these areas with Betadine diluted 50:50 with warm water or better yet Chlorhexidine solution 2 or 3% diluted until a really light blue mixture and then rinsed with sterlie saline. Allow either the Betadine or Chlorhex solution to stay on the skin for 3-5 mins before rinsing with the saline. Once at the vet you can then get her on much needed antibiotics to fully resolve this infection. I do hope that Lola's skin infection and allergies resolve soon!
