My old dog has a bump near her rear, won't eat, and can't poop. Help!

It could be a cancerous lump, and the sooner it is diagnosed as such the better treatment and outcome for Nina. Possible causes: infected uterus since she is not spayed, cancer, foreign body (ate something that is stuck in her stomach or intestines), or intestinal parasites. I would need more information about what tests your Vet ran: blood work, stool sample or X-rays of her belly? If those things have not been done then I would recheck with your Vet as soon as possible. An infected uterus and a foreign body are emergency surgeries and can be life saving if done early. If she has cancer the best thing would be to discuss humane euthanasia since Sasha is suffering. I am very sorry and I with you and Sasha the best.

I would be concerned that this lump could be a malignant tumor, and it's clearly bothering Chloe if she won't let you touch it. I would take her into a vet now to get this checked out. Best of luck.

As for the bump, my biggest concern would be an enlarged lymph node and mammary cancer. The black stool, lethargy, and thirst are suggestive of bleeding in the intestines. Since she is not spayed, a pyometra would also be a possibility. You need to get her to a veterinarian as soon as possible for bloodwork and abdominal x-rays or ultrasound.

That is odd and it sounds like poor Duchess has a few problems happening at one. Skin bump are generally not related unless they are occurring because of something like getting into a hornets nest or some sort of allergic reaction. Certain types of tumors can spread to other parts of the body but it doesn't generally all happen on the same day. The mass on her rectum is concerning because it is larger and very red. I recommend to have Lola examined by her veterinarian. Skin masses can be many things but red raised masses are especially concerning for a skin cancer called a Mast Cell tumor. Your veterinarian will need to collect a sample of cell to examined under the microscope to determine what this is and if further treatment is needed. Have this checked out soon. Additionally, ongoing diarrhea often results in bacterial shifts that will continue the diarrhea regardless of the initial cause. This occurs when the anal glands do not fully empty during the act of defecation resulting in inflammation, impaction and infection. Have her examined by your veterinarian for confirmation and treatment. This may include sedation followed by lancing, draining and flushing the abscess. Antibiotics and pain management will likely be indicated. Topical treatment may not be sufficient. An e-collar (cone) can be used to prevent licking until she sees the doctor. Oh that is quite a large bump! I'm wondering if it could be a cyst, or if her anal sac is impacted. Because it's that large and I'm concerned it could rupture, I would have Frida seen by a vet immediately. Best of luck.
