My dog has bumps on head and back, plus constipation. Should I worry?

That is odd and it sounds like poor Duchess has a few problems happening at one. Skin bump are generally not related unless they are occurring because of something like getting into a hornets nest or some sort of allergic reaction. Certain types of tumors can spread to other parts of the body but it doesn't generally all happen on the same day. The mass on her rectum is concerning because it is larger and very red. I recommend to have Lola examined by her veterinarian. Skin masses can be many things but red raised masses are especially concerning for a skin cancer called a Mast Cell tumor. Your veterinarian will need to collect a sample of cell to examined under the microscope to determine what this is and if further treatment is needed. Have this checked out soon. Additionally, ongoing diarrhea often results in bacterial shifts that will continue the diarrhea regardless of the initial cause. I recommend to have Duchess examined by the veterinarian within the next 24 hours. I hope this helps and best of luck.

This is probably due to an allergy, although it could also be infection or mites. First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to treat with a high quality flea treatment (advocate or advantage), then ask the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might reveal an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try to discover the cause of the allergy. Three main type of allergies are usually affecting pets: food allergies, flea and parasite related ones and environmental type (allergens coming from trees, pollens, dust etc etc). Some medications can be given by the vet in order to repair any possible skin lesions (like steroids and antibiotics). Poor guy. The hard lump is hard to say what it is without a photo. It could be a condition called folliculitis or even a pustule (infected pocket). However, with bloody diarrhea, I would highly recommend taking Merlo in to your vet to get him examined and stool tested. Lots of things can cause loose bloody stool including: parvovirus infection, pancreatitis (usually causes vomiting as well and decreased appetite), stress colitis, etc. Once Merlo is examined, the vet will likely put him on a short course of antibiotics and probiotics at the very least for the loose stool. The hard lump will have to be examined first to determine what, if anything, needs to be done for this as well. I hope that your furry friend Merlo gets these issues resolved soon! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could be a benign or malignant growth. Based on its appearance, this is most likely a benign sebaceous adenoma. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I do recommend that all new bumps or lumps be evaluated by a veterinarian to determine if they are benign (non-cancerous) or not. There are multiple non-concerning growths of the skin (such as adenomas or warts) that do not need to be addressed, but there are certain types of skin cancer (such as mast cell tumors) that would need to be removed in order to be cured. I would recommend having Ebony evaluated by her regular veterinarian to determine if these bumps are concerning or not, and if any treatment is needed. Good luck!

These bumps on Snoopy could be warts or another type of benign tumor. There is a chance they could be malignant, but it's not very likely in a dog his age. Any suspicious bumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the bump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I would have Snoopy seen by a vet in the next few days to have these bumps examined and diagnosed so they can be treated as needed.

Hello, Thanks for the good pictures of Edna's head. I would be more concerned for skin inflammation rather than warts based on the photos. I would be suspicious of skin fold dermatitis or demodectic mites based on her breed. I would recommend taking Edna to her veterinarian for a physical exam. They may recommend diagnostics such as a skin smear or scraping to make sure she does not have an infection from bacteria, yeast, or mites. In the meantime, I'd recommend keeping the areas clean and dry. You can use saline solution for gentle cleaning. I hope this is helpful.
