It also may be that she was slowly going blind over the past few years and now finally is totally blind and you just did not notice it before. THis is difficult, but dogs are great. They can get used to being blind easily, and have a few more senses with which they can "see".

If there is some sort of fluid accumulating, perhaps there was some glandular tissue left behind or some type of infection. It is also important to make sure there is no issue with an abscessed upper tooth. I would highly recommend taking her to a vet as soon as possible. Bleeding in the eye can be due to local trauma to the eye but also can be connected to underlying disease like toxin (rat poison), bleeding disorders, cancer, high blood pressure or infectious disease. I would be very concerned in an older dog with enlarged spleen that the blood in eye is related to this. Hello, Soffie has hair loss around her eye but I cannot visualize the eye itself. The hair loss may be secondary to mites. In order to find out.
