Why is my dog bleeding on her neck after grooming or new harness?

There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. This is usually determined with an examination and a fine needle aspirate (FNA) or a biopsy. Treatment depends on the findings up to that point. My concern is that it could also get infected. Try to keep the area as clean as possible and try to prevent her from scratching at it. If you notice it’s hot to the touch, has any drainage or is swollen, then contact a vet. Kisses to your pup!

Hi There! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It probably was due to mild trauma (such as from scratching). Given how it looks, it will likely heal on its own without much treatment if you leave it alone and prevent your pup from licking or chewing at it. Good luck!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Based on the pictures it appears that Rocco may have either an open wound or a growth of some kind that has started oozing. I would recommend he be evaluated by his regular veterinarian to determine if he needs stitches, etc based on what the underlying cause for his lesion is and to start any treatment (antibiotics, anti-inflammatory) that may be needed.
