Why does my 1-year-old German Shepherd have black scabs on his penis?

This looks like an infection in the skin. Due to the amount of discharge and in multiple locations it will most likely need oral medication to get rid of it. It isn't an emergency, but I would recommend taking Kojack to a veterinarian. They will take a sample of it and look under a microscope to determine what kind of infection it is in order to choose the best treatment. Until you can get to the vet, you can clean it with a gentle antiseptic such as Hibiclens or dilute betadine solution (diluted to the color of weak tea) and apply a thin film of triple antibiotic ointment. Hi there. Mites are microscopic, so you can't see them with the naked eye. The scab could be due to a wound or skin condition of some kind. If this has been a recurring issue and the scab isn't going away, I would recommend taking Cy to the vet to have it checked.

This presentation is due to a skin infection, possibly caused by bacteria. A veterinary consultation is needed in these cases as antibiotics will be quickly resolving this problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking/scratching (if any). He will likely need to be treated with an oral antibiotic and/or a medicated shampoo. This is likely a result of his allergic skin, but can have another cause. I hope this information helps!

Based on the picture, that sort of just looks like dirt or grime that is clogging up some of the porous parts of Ecko's hairless skin. Alternatively, as some dogs age, they do develop anomalies and changes to their skin just as human beings do due to the normal aging process. I would first simply try and just scrub the area with some soap and water to see what it looks like afterward. If it still looks the exactly the same but is causing Ecko no problems, I don't know that I would worry about it terribly much at this time. You can certainly take her to the vet where they can take a look, perform skin scrapings, take hair samples, collect biopsies, etc. I do not believe this is necessary at this time, though. Continue to monitor her for any changes, and bring her to the vet should the area become irritated, infected, or begins to spread to neighboring portions of the body.

There are a number of things that could cause excessive itching with hair loss and blackened skin. The most common possibilities would include allergies, fleas, a bacterial or fungal skin infection, or skin mites (mange). If she's also acting weak, I would be concerned that she may also have some type of systemic illness like liver or kidney disease, anemia, hypothyroidism, or Cushing's disease. It would be best to have her examined by a vet as soon as possible - he/she can do some simple skin tests as well as blood work or other testing if needed to help determine what's wrong and get her started on appropriate treatment.

Hello. Willow may have a bit of dermatitis going on. I would recommend bathing her in a Benzoyl Peroxide based shampoo which you can find at most pet retailers & online. Follow the directions by making sure you leave the lather on for 10 minutes before rinsing. Repeat twice a week until the skin heals ( which may take several weeks of bathing ). If the skin does not seem to be healing, she may have allergies or require antibiotics, but a medicated shampoo often will clear up these minor issues.
