My dog ate white fudge. Should I be worried or go to the vet?

However, if the fudge contained sufficient quantities of chocolate, this could lead to other problems, such as heart arrhythmias, seizures, tremors, or even death in severe cases. If the fudge contained chocolate, the potential problems can vary based on the type of chocolate, amount of chocolate in the recipe, and Zoe's 60 pound body weight. If Zoe ate the fudge within the past 2 hours, I recommend taking her directly to your vet or an emergency vet so that vomiting can be induced. If it has been longer than 2 hours since she ate the fudge, it does not contain chocolate, and she is otherwise eating and acting normally, you can try to switch Zoe to a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and white rice for the next few days. If she does not develop vomiting and diarrhea after 3-4 days, gradually transition her back to her normal diet by mixing the bland diet and normal food together for another 5-7 days. If Louis develops GI upset, the fast followed by a bland diet fed in small, frequent amounts will typically resolve the issue. Transition slowly to his regular diet after symptoms abate. Since fondant is mostly just sugar and shortening they will likely be OK, however it is best to keep an eye on them for a bit.
