My dog ate white chocolate Hershey kisses and foil. Is it toxic?

Well that wasn't good of Winston to eat that Hershey's kiss! The good news is that one is not likely to cause any problems. It's very small and doesn't contain enough chocolate to cause any toxic symptoms. He should be fine, so I wouldn't do anything for him except monitor him to be safe. Chocolate toxicity can cause a significant amount of GI upset (vomiting and diarrhea), but does not tend to cause long term problems unless the dose was high enough to cause seizures. The foil wrappers should not cause a problem unless there is enough foil to cause an obstruction in the GI tract. If the vomiting and diarrhea is still continuing three days later, it would be worth having your vet examine Louie and give him some medication to help him feel better. Good luck! Pepe will likely be fine unless he is unusually sensitive. White chocolate has the lowest concentration of the chocolates. He may experience some vomiting or diarrhea or he may have no signs at all. To be safe, watch for signs of toxicity such as tremoring, seizures and hyper excitability. If you want to be proactive in regards to possible GI upset, you can feed him a bland diet of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% plain boiled white rice tonight and tomorrow morning. For Louie that is a toxic dose where vomiting and diarrhea will occur. Since he is vomiting he should be seen by your Vet for an exam, anti-nausea medications and fluids today. If he is having diarrhea they can provide medications to help with that. Once the vomiting stops he should be fed a bland diet for 3-7 days. You can purchase a diet from your Vet or cook for him by boiling chicken or hamburger and combining it with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day. I wish Louie the best!

Luckily white chocolate does not contain as much of the substances that can be toxic to dogs (Caffeine and theobromine) as can be found in other types of chocolate, so I'm hoping this should not be a significant health problem, however it could cause some issues based on how much Mung ate. If vomiting or diarrhea develops, or you notice a decrease in appetite or energy, I recommend you have Mung seen by a vet.
