My dog ate too much Tropiclean no brush gel. Should I be worried?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This particular toothpaste in general does not contain xylitol which is the concerning ingredient sometimes found in some toothpastes. I recommend you double check that this is not an ingredient of the specific crest toothpaste variant you may have. If xylitol is not part of it then she is likely going to be just fine though some dogs may get some stomach upset. If it does in fact have xylitol then she would have to be evaluated right away as that would be a medical emergency as that can cause liver toxicity and seizures. Good luck and have a good night!

Hello. I think Stark will be just fine, especially if she did not puncture the bottle or lap up any spilled contents. This solution would be pretty nasty tasting & a little irritating, so if you have not noticed any drooling or salivating at this point, then she will be fine. I can understand being worried! If the cooling gel is non-toxic, then Kari should be safe. There is a small potential that it could cause some GI upset if she ate a fair amount of it, so if shows vomiting or diarrhea, I would withhold food and feed a bland diet. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. Kari should be fine, but you did absolutely the right thing by checking :-)

Hello, sorry to hear about your puppy. It’s likely that he will be ok, but he may have an upset stomach and too much energy for the rest of the day. You can feed him a decrease amount of food this evenving and as long as he is otherwise doing ok, he may then continue his normal routine tomorrow. Hope this helps and best of luck.

No this should not be toxic to the point of life-threatening illness if a little is swallowed. At most, you may see some stomach upset (vomiting, diarrhea) in which case a bland diet of boiled plain chicken OR lean ground turkey and rice can be given to help settle the stomach. If you notice Jax having vomiting, diarrhea, or a decrease in appetite or energy, that could indicate the fur chunk is stuck and he needs veterinary care. If you don't notice that in the next few days, I wouldn't be too concerned, as hopefully it will have passed.
