My puppy ate too much high-calorie supplement gel. Should I worry?

He should be okay. Monitor him for vomiting, not eating or drinking, diarrhea, or abnormal behavior. You can feed him a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice just to be safe. If he is acting off take him to the veterinarian.

This is not a toxic dose for a 15 pound dog. That being said, it could still upset his stomach. He could show signs anytime in the next 48 hours. If he starts to seem sick you should take him to your vet ASAP. I suggest you feed him 1/2 a piece of bread that will help coat the tablet and pull it through his GI tract. No other food for 6 hours. Fortunately, there is usually nothing overtly toxic with overdosing on a joint supplement, & if Louis is doing well at this time, he should continue to do so. He may experience some gastric upset, so diarrhea is still a possibility. I do want you to always be on the lookout for additional stomach problems such as vomiting, gagging/retching, bloating or perceived abdominal pain. If she just ate them (within the last 30 minutes or so) then you can induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide - 2 tablespoons. Hopefully she will vomit them up. If it has been longer than 30 minutes then you should take her to the vet. She may have no side effects or she may have some GI or neurological symptoms. There is no way to predict how a certain animal will react.

Oh no, naughty Moose! He will most likely be just fine. I would not feed him anything else tonight, and go back to his normal food tomorrow. Watch for signs of GI upset, such as diarrhea & vomiting. If that occurs, it's best to reach out to the vet, as he may need medication to help settle his stomach after gorging himself. Make sure you keep plenty of fresh water available, as treats often have a higher salt content than normal food, so he may be thirstier than usual. No worries. If she did overeat, she will pass it likely on her own. As long as she is still playful, let he go about her normal activity and then perhaps give her only a portion of her normal amount of food at the next feeding, to ensure she doesn't become constipated.
