My dog ate spaghetti. Now he's weak, vomiting, not eating. Vet needed?

I’m sorry to hear about Little! I am surprised to hear about this reaction to some spaghetti but I suppose it is possible if he has a very sensitive tummy. I am more concerned that the vomiting has nothing to do with the spaghetti. Was there anything else he could have gotten into? (Trash? Medications? Chemicals/glue/paint? Socks? Other materials?) And the second question that crosses my mind is: did Little receive his full set of puppy vaccines? Could this be parvo or some other thing going on? Moral of the story, if Little has been vomiting for 5 hours, it’s time to take him into the emergency vet to get him checked out. They may offer x-rays, bloodwork, or a parvo test (if warranted). Even if you pursue no teating, the vet can give medications for the nausea/vomiting and determine if Little is dehydrated or not. If he vomited a couple times but has since just been drooling and otherwise seems ok, pick up the food and water and monitor. Reintroduce water 4 hours after the vomiting episode and a small meal 12 hours after vomiting episode. If he vomits again, head to the overnight vet clinic. I would be very concerned about Bubbles, and take her into a vet immediately. I see that she isn't spayed, which means she can develop a life threatening infection of the uterus called a pyometra. A pyometra is fatal without treatment, and it causes vomiting, weakness, and lethargy, all signs she is showing. Without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain if she has one or not, but because of the seriousness of a pyometra I would take her into vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Poor pup! It sounds like he's quite sick. If he's vomiting, having diarrhea, and acting lethargic, this may be a more serious issue than a simple upset stomach - so I would recommend taking him to the vet today to be seen. Your veterinarian may recommend some basic lab work to see how serious the problem is, and can get him started on supportive care such as fluids and medication to control the vomiting and diarrhea.

This may cause some GI upset, and potentially could cause bigger problems if there was a lot of garlic and onion it, but otherwise, Amber should be fine. I bet she enjoyed it! If you see vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, a hunched up appearance, lethargy, loss of appetite, and/or pale gums, have her seen by a vet immediately.

If you have an emergency vet available in your area, I would strongly recommend getting him seen right away. Keep him warm, keep him hydrated by offering low sodium chicken broth, ice cubes to lick and get him seen the second you can. And make sure to submit the vet bill to whoever fed him bones and people food. It may not do any good, but it may make them more aware of the consequences of feeding pets something they shouldn't have.

Bubbles needs to be examined by the veterinarian today. It sounds like she is feeling terrible. Just like people, there are many conditions that can make pets feel sick. This could range from bacterial over growth to intestinal blockage. Also like us, diseases are best addressed early and this may result in a better prognosis. The fact that she can't lay in one position likely indicates that she is in pain as well. I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian today. The doctor will need to learn the underlying cause in order to give appropriate treatment. Bring in a stool sample in case the doctor needs to test it. I hope Bubbles starts feeling better quickly! It sounds as Bub is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.
