My large dog ate a pickle from garlic brine. Is it toxic?

This is likely not enough garlic to pose a serious risk of toxicity. At worst, you may see some mild stomach upset. Withhold food for 24 hours and feed a bland diet in small, frequent amount until symptoms resolve.

I'm sorry to hear that Chief got into trouble today! The amount of garlic you are describing should not cause toxicity for a dog as big as Chief. Just keep an eye on him for any tummy upset (vomiting, diarrhea, off his food) or lethargy, and if these occur have him seen by your veterinarian.

I am sorry to hear about Snickers! Luckily an ingestion of this size is not a real concern for toxicity, so I would not worry about him eating this tiny piece of garlic bread. Garlic and onions can be toxic, but we only see these effects when ingested in large amounts.

If only a small piece was ingested there was likely not enough garlic to cause any problems. There wouldn't be enough garlic on a couple of handfuls of chips to cause any toxicity issues, and Parmesan and peas are not toxic to dogs - so she should be just fine :) I would monitor her for the next few hours to be safe, and make sure she has access to plenty of fresh water since the chips were probably salty. She may have some mild GI upset if she isn't used to eating human food, but otherwise I would not expect any significant problems.
