Hello, I just chopped onion and fresh garlic and saw my dog take something off the floor although I don’t recall any falling. So, I’m not certain but afraid there is a potential he ate a piece of chopped onion or a piece of chopped fresh garlic. Is this cause for concern?? He is 46 pounds.

There is likely not enough garlic in the broth to cause intoxication in a 65 lbs dog. Usually the toxic effects will not show until a few days after ingestion, so watch for clinical signs of anemia which include lethargy, pale gums, an elevated heart rate, an increased respiratory rate, weakness, exercise intolerance, and collapse. However, as I said before, I do not think your dog ingested a toxic dose.
