My Jack Russell ate a pancake and is vomiting. What should I do?

Poor Max! I’m concerned he’s vomiting water as well as food, and he could easily become dehydrated from that. I think he needs to see a vet now, and I urge you to take him into one immediately. Best of luck.

Captain jack is really cute! I am sorry for his intermittent stomach issues. You may want to consider putting him on a probiotics. Also talk to your vet about ruling out any intestinal parasites, giardia, or other abnormal bacteria. He may also need to be on a diet for sensitive stomachs like science diet I/D. You can also add a small amount (1/2 teaspoon) of canned pumpkin to his food twice a day to help keep him regulsted. I hope this helps!

The problem with a jaffa cake is that they do contain some chocolate, and without knowing how much chocolate was in the cake, I can't say if he will be ok or not. I would have him seen by a vet immediately to have vomiting induced with a shot to prevent any chance of chocolate toxicity.

It could be Jax has gastritis. Pancreatitis makes dogs very sick, so I would expect more episodes of vomiting than you have seen. Having him seen by his vet is a good idea. I'd take him into the vet in the morning. Best of luck.

I'm glad to hear that Lucy otherwise seems to be eating, drinking and acting normally! However, it is very concerning that she has had vomiting with dark material that may or may not be blood. If blood is present, it is possible that she could have an ulcer in her stomach and/or intestines, severe intestinal parasites, exposure to a toxin, cancer, among many other issues. Even though this has only happened twice over 2 months, I still strongly recommend taking Lucy to her vet for evaluation. She may need to have abdominal x-rays and/or ultrasound, as well as some blood testing. From there, her vet will be able to advise you as to the best course of treatment. Poor little guy! Before doing anything else, check the ingredient list on your peanut butter to check for xylitol. Xylitol is highly toxic to dogs, causing sudden drops in blood sugar that can lead to seizures, liver failure, and even death in severe cases. If xylitol is listed on the ingredients, take your dog to an ER vet immediately. However, if xylitol is not a concern, it certainly sounds as if your puppy has some stomach upset. This could be a result of gastroenteritis from eating too much of a fatty food, or he may be developing pancreatitis. Definitely stop feeding him for the next 12-24 hours. When you begin feeding him again, offer a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and white rice for the next few days before slowly transitioning back to his normal diet. If he continues vomiting today, he should be seen by a vet to assess his hydration and administer supportive care (fluids, anti-nausea medication, etc.). I hope he feels better soon!
