My dog ate McDonald's fries. Will he be okay? What should I do?

While McDonald fries are certainly delicious, they are not meant for dogs. The problem with them is that they are both high in fat and salt, and fatty foods cause pancreatitis in dogs. Pancreatitis is an inflammation of the pancreas, and it's a very serious condition that requires intensive care because it can be fatal. If T'challa ate these fries within the last two hours, you can take him into a vet immediately to have vomiting induced to prevent any problems. If it's been longer than two hours, monitor him. Should you see a loss of appetite, vomiting, and/or belly pain, that could mean he has pancreatitis and you will need to take him into a vet immediately. I would withhold food for tonight and if he appears fine tomorrow and doesn't show any of the symptoms I mentioned above, feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal food. I hope this helps!

    Throwing up can have many causes. It is basically a problem with the stomach and intestines caused by a food over sensitivity, eating something that does not agree with the dog, intestinal parasites, bacterial infection, viral infection, the weather, food change, stress, etc.
    I would put Achilles on bland food for two days, such as boiled white rice and boiled white boneless chicken meat, fed in small quantities over several feeds and then transition back to his regular food slowly over a few days. If the vomiting persists, or if he gets lethargic, he needs to see a veterinarian for an exam as there may be something more serious such as an infection going on.

    It could be that he has gastroenteritis (inflammation in his stomach and intestines) from the french fries. I would recommend fasting him for at least the next 12 hours. If he hasn't vomited in that time, you can start introducing small amounts of boiled chicken and plain white rice. If he hold this down, continue this and then start slowly adding in his regular dog food. If he continues vomiting during the fasting period, then I would recommend taking him to a veterinarian for evaluation. Rich, fatty foods can cause a condition called pancreatitis which is very serious and requires treatment by a veterinarian. In the future, I would avoid fatty foods as treats.

    I wouldn't think a small rice cake would cause this, but eating any food that isn't his normal dog food could make him sick if he has a sensitive stomach. I would not feed him anything for 12 hours then give him small amounts of chicken and rice (no bones) to see if this will settle his stomach. if he is just continuously vomiting, lethargic, or not eating then I would take him to your vet for an exam. Your vet will be able to do bloodwork and X-rays if needed and come up with an appropriate treatment plan for him. I hope this helps!

This is a severe inflammation of the pancreas that occurs when a dog eats too much fat, and chips are unfortunately fatty. If he ate them within the past two hours, I would take him into a vet immediately to have vomiting induced to prevent him from getting pancreatitis. If it's been longer than two hours since he ate them, you will have monitor him for signs of pancreatitis. These signs include vomiting, hunched back, painful abdomen, vomiting undigested food, distension of the abdomen, loss of appetite, diarrhea, and lethargy. Maxi can get pancreatitis from this or diarrhea and vomiting. I would recommend giving her a bland diet (boiled chicken and white rice) just to calm everything down and then monitor her. If she starts vomiting, diarrhea, not eating, becomes lethargic then I recommend bringing her to a veterinarian. My dog ate McDonald's ranch, BBQ sauce, and McNugget. Is it safe?
A small amount of these foods should not cause any serious issues. Some dogs may develop diarrhea or an upset stomach from new or different foods. To lessen the chance of this, I would feed him a bland diet (boiled chicken and cooked, white rice in a 1:1 ratio is a good option) for the next day or two! If he does seem to feel bad it is never a wrong idea to visit your vet! I hope this helps!

Can my dog eat a McDonald's hamburger patty as an occasional treat?
The only problem with that is that the hamburger is fatty, and too much fat in a dog's diet leads to pancreatitis. In my opinion, this wouldn't be a good treat to give Chloe. Instead, how about giving her some boiled white meat chicken (no bones)?? That would be a healthy treat for her to have :-)
