My puppy shredded a loofah. Is soap or eating it harmful to her?

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Aside from some froathing/foaming from irritation from the mouth she should be fine. If she seems like she is irritated in the mouth you can rinse it with water (turn her head sideways and stream water through sideways, so that you are not pouring water into her mouth that she could get into her airway). Otherwise just provide lots of fresh water for her to drink. Best of luck with Bella!

HE isn't likely to be blocked, the vomiting and diarrhea is to be expected due to the ingestion of the soap. as long as he is eating normally and is energetic you have no reason to suspect a blockage. stools may only appear after 48 hours due to the diarrhea that probably cleaned the whole intestines.

Yes Jasmine will be fine. If anything she may vomit once or have loose stool but I don't expect that. Puppies get into lots of things they shouldn't so do keep a close watch on her. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Jasmine.

Dove soap isn't toxic, but you may see some GI upset from this. If you see persistent vomiting and diarrhea, bloating, pacing, pain, swelling of the face and muzzle, or difficulty breathing (the last two symptoms could be caused by an allergic reaction to ingredients in the soap), take Zoey into a vet immediately. Of course the concern would be a gastrointestinal obstruction from her eating pieces of her toy. At this point, if she has only vomited once, you may continue to monitor her closely to see if it is only going to be an isolated episode. Watch closely for signs associated with an obstruction such as nausea, vomiting, anorexia and abdominal pain. If observed, have her evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment at that point. Good luck and have a great day!

Most human viruses cannot infect dogs, so that isn't a concern. Eating dish soap can cause upset stomach (vomiting or diarrhea) but it shouldn't last more than 24 hours. If you notice vomiting or diarrhea that last longer than 24 hours, I would have Snowball examined by a vet.

Oh dear! Puppies often chew things they shouldn't, unfortunately. If Ruben did swallow some of the foam, the biggest risk is that it could get stuck in his stomach or intestines and cause a blockage. Or, it may pass through his system with no problems at all. I would keep a close eye on him for the next 2-3 days. As long as he's eating and drinking, acting normal, and having regular bowel movements, you shouldn't need to worry. If he stops eating, has any vomiting, or does not have a bowel movement for more than 24 hours, then I would recommend taking him to the vet for an exam and x-rays since these can be signs of a blockage.
