My dog chewed a dryer sheet. Is it dangerous? What should I do?

Hello. If Chip is not ill or acting sick, then he took care of the problem on his own. If he is acting sick, then do not feed him, supply water only if he does not vomit & get him to the vet as soon as you can. But if he seems fine, he will most likely be OK. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I think that Ace should be fine as long a there are no signs of ingestion. Dryer sheets are very toxic if ingested due to the chemicals on the sheets and the fact that they are non-digestible. If he licked/ingested the chemicals off he could show oral irritation (drooling, not eating, vomiting) or skin irritation and in severe cases of ingestion breathing problems and kidney problems. Long story short, if the sheet is intact and he is eating and not drooling he is likely fine! I hope this helps!

The dryer sheet doesn't have any toxins that could hurt your dog and if only a small piece is missing, this should pass through his intestinal tract without trouble. Keep an eye out for drooling, vomiting, loss of appetite, or general lethargy. If anything like this happens, get him in to see your vet right away.

However, I would be concerned if you think she has eaten some of the loofah as this could potentially to further upset her stomach or even lead to an obstruction. Since you washed her off, I think she will be fine. Watch her for any abnormal behaviors (not eating/drinking, vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, etc). Dryer sheets can be toxic if ingested, but are not terribly toxic when rubbed on the hair/skin. It may cause some irritation though and could cause some issues if licked, so it's best to just rinse him really well with water. After that, I would not worry about any problems occurring.
