My dog ate lily pollen. Will my dog be okay after eating lily pollen?

Lilies are not toxic to dogs although they can cause stomach upset. All parts of the lily plant are quite toxic to cats and cause kidney failure, but dogs seem to be resistant. If Zoey vomits or develops diarrhea you should see your veterinarian.

First off, you did the right thing by calling your vet right away about Evie. As I'm sure you are aware, lilies are toxic to cats. I agree with monitoring her, as you don't know if she has ingested any of the plant or not. The pollen of certain lily species (the Lilium or Hemerocallis species) can be toxic to cats if ingested, and hopefully she hasn't gotten any in her mouth. Clinical signs of toxicity include vomiting, anorexia, drooling, lethargy, pawing at the mouth, foaming, excessive or decreased thirst or urination, and/or painful abdomen. If you see any of those signs, get her into a vet immediately. In the meantime, remove any lilies from the house or any you have outside to keep them away from her. Hopefully, she will be ok. Hello! I have great news for you! Daisies are non-toxic to dogs. I doubt you will see anything as a result of him eating the petals, but at most, mild stomach irritation could cause an episode of vomit or two. It would be a good idea to have blood work performed to ensure that he has not sustained any kidney damage. Most of the time, damage to the kidneys occurs by 72 hours after the exposure. Oh no, that's not good that Layla ate a petal from a lily! As I'm sure you know, the lily is toxic to dogs and causes GI upset, anorexia, and tremors. Typically a dog has to eat large amounts of it to cause these symptoms, so one petal may not be enough to cause any problems. I would watch Layla for now, and if you do see any GI upset in the form of vomiting or diarrhea, I can give you a home remedy to try. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, she stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. If there was some pollen on your hands that you transferred on Oreo's fur, then yes there is a chance that he may get into trouble. You should brush him as soon as possible and monitor for signs of vomiting, lethargy and lack of appetite. If you notice that he is unwell, you should take him to your local vets right away. If you touched only the leaves or stems with your hands, it will not cause any problems to your cat.

The toxic components in tulips is concentrated in the bulb but is also present (in less concentrated amounts) in the other parts of the plant as well. I think Rocky will be fine but symptoms you would see would be associated with irritation of the mouth and esophagus: drooling and maybe vomiting. If you didn't do so already, flush out his mouth really well. If vomiting occurs I would have him seen by a vet. I hope this helps and I wish Rocky the best!
